Jewish education has been proven to be the key factor in Jewish continuity. The Chai Center Hebrew School offers a stimulating and motivating program for children, ages five through thirteen, where they acquire a broad knowledge of the fundamentals in Judaism. The students gain an appreciation for the joys, values and traditions of our heritage as it is vividly brought to life by the dedicated and enthusiastic teachers whose creativity and dynamism make every lesson a unique learning experience.
At the Chai Center, our goal is simple: We want our students to view Judaism in an intelligent, relevant and upbeat light. We strive to make each day exciting and each lesson applicable and stimulating. Our hands-on and multi-sensory learning style will allow the children to experience living Judaism. By year's end, along with the Aleph-Bet, Holiday learning and Hebrew literacy, your child will have developed a deep love and appreciation for their precious heritage, imbuing their every day with a sense of pride and purpose.
Looking forward to a great year together. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.

CURRICULUM
HEBR EW LANGUAGE / ALEF BET:
Our Hebrew reading curriculum is based on the internationally acclaimed Aleph ChampionTM Reading Program. This highly motivational system provides excitement and inspiration, leading the students into a winning cycle of learning. Hebrew vocabulary is a basic part of our program - children will learn Hebrew words related to current themes.
MITZVOT & JEWISH ETHICS:
What is the reason for affixing a mezuzah on the door? What makes an animal Kosher? Why is Shabbat a special day in the week? This class will teach basic mitzvot to the younger grades and provide insightful meaning of more complex mitzvot to the older grades.
JEWISH HOLIDAYS:
Children will learn to appreciate the special quality and holiness of our Holidays. They will become familiar with the historical background, customs, and observances of each festival through interactive workshops, activities and projects.
JEWISH HISTORY:
Children will be taught our beautiful and insightful history, and will glean morals and ethics from the heroes highlighted in the Torah. They will be given an overview of Jewish history, starting with creation, continuing with the giving of the Torah, and finishing with a glimpse at modern day Israel.
BAR / BAT MITZVAH TRAINING: (Private)
As students near the age of Bar/Bat Mitzvah, they will be given special training to prepare for this important milestone in a meaningful way. We offer this as a supplement program to our Hebrew School. If you are interested, please call the office.
